This is the home page for Holy Cross Refugio. The name came about as a way to combine the nature of such a special place as the Holy Cross wilderness with a sense of civilization. A refugio is a hut that provides shelter, an escape from civilization, but also a taste of civilization in the city.
HCR, for short, is a work in progress, and serves as a release valve from the stresses of city living and work, and a way to build community and sense of place. We welcome new friends who want to take part in shaping the future of this site on the edge of the wilderness.
